Supporting Individuals through a Cancer Diagnosis with Hypnotherapy

A cancer diagnosis can be an overwhelming experience, not only for the individual but also for their family and friends. With so many types of cancers and a range of conventional treatments like chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy available, the process often brings anxiety, uncertainty, and emotional strain.

As an integrative clinical solution-focused hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, I have specialised training in supporting individuals with cancer. Alongside my standard hypnotherapy qualifications, I’ve earned a Medical Diploma from the Clinical Hypnotherapy School, which equips me to help those undergoing cancer treatments manage their mental and emotional well-being during this challenging time.

How Hypnotherapy Can Help

Each hypnotherapy session is uniquely tailored to your specific needs. Whether you're navigating a new diagnosis, preparing for or recovering from surgery, or managing the side effects of treatments such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy, I am here to support you. Together, we can focus on relaxation techniques, stress management, and, if useful, I can teach you self-hypnosis. This provides you with a valuable resource that you can access anytime to help calm your mind and body.

In the UK, many cancer care centres, palliative care centres, and hospices now offer a variety of complementary therapies, including hypnotherapy. These therapies are designed to work alongside conventional medical treatments, helping to manage symptoms such as anxiety, nausea, and fatigue, or to mitigate the side effects of treatments like chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy.

Important Considerations

It is crucial to understand that while hypnotherapy can be a powerful tool for improving well-being, it does not treat or cure cancer itself. Hypnotherapy should always be used as a complement to the medical treatments recommended by your healthcare providers, never as a substitute.

My goal is to offer a safe, compassionate space where you can find mental and emotional relief, as well as practical tools to help you through your cancer journey.
